01 / DIMENSIONAL ACCEPTANCE

Measure Size, Thickness, Diagonal, Edge Straightness, and Flatness on a Supported Slab

Condition the slab on a clean, rigid, level support before measurement. Record the calibrated instrument, slab ID, batch, ambient condition, measurement location, actual result, and inspector.

Measurement rule: do not reject a large slab for apparent bow while it is leaning in a rack. Transfer it to the defined inspection support, allow it to settle, and measure the unsupported gap using the same method on both parties’ reports.

02 / SURFACE & APPEARANCE

Inspect the Finished Face at 1.5 Metres Under 500–1000 Lux Neutral White Light

Clean the surface first. Inspect for approximately 10 seconds from the normal viewing position, then move closer only to classify a visible condition. Raking light may be used for polished-surface scratches but does not replace normal-view acceptance.

VIEWING SETUP

1.5 m / 500–1000 lux

Use neutral white lighting and a consistent viewing angle. Record unusual side light, wet surface, protective film, dust, or reflections that affect the result.

SURFACE DEFECTS

Classify by visibility and location

Record scratch, pinhole, pit, glaze spot, contamination, print defect, chip, crack, edge damage, or gloss variation with size, count, and coordinates.

MARBLE PATTERN

Vein is not a defect

Judge the approved design, finish, face plan, and batch—not whether every slab repeats the same natural-looking vein position.

Automatic hold conditions

Through-body crack or crack extending from an edge or opening.
Structural edge damage entering a finished part or planned cut line.
Wrong product, body type, thickness, finish, face, or direction.
Bookmatch set missing a required A/B or numbered sequence face.
Shade or batch mixed without the customer’s written approval.
Contamination, moisture, or packing damage that prevents reliable inspection.

05 / PACKING & RECEIVING

Quality Acceptance Continues Through Packing, Loading, Unloading, and Site Storage

FACTORY PACKING

Protect face, edge, and sequence

Use separators, corner/edge protection, rigid rack or crate, controlled strap position, weather protection, and labels visible without unloading the full package.

CONTAINER LOADING

Restrain the complete rack

Record rack gross weight, centre of gravity, blocking/bracing, floor condition, door clearance, seal number, and photographs before the doors close.

RECEIVING

Photograph before movement

Check container, seal, rack position, straps, moisture, impact signs, and package labels. Report transport damage before dismantling the evidence.

Claim evidence: identify the slab, face, batch, rack, container, defect location, and package condition. Provide wide, mid-range, and close-up photographs plus the delivery and unloading timeline.
