Loading quantities by size.

Per 20GP container

Each row uses one size, one thickness and the listed packing frame. Slabs per pallet multiplied by pallet count gives the slab quantity. Slab quantity multiplied by area per slab gives the total area. Batch weight, packing and route weight limits affect the load for an order.

* The No. 10 A-frame plans for 1200 × 2700 × 9 mm and 1200 × 2400 × 9 mm require written factory confirmation. Until then, slab quantities, pallet counts and areas are reference figures.

How slab quantity and area are calculated

For 1600 × 3200 × 12 mm slabs, each slab covers 1.6 × 3.2 = 5.12 m². At 25 slabs per pallet and 7 pallets per container, the load is 25 × 7 = 175 slabs. The area is 175 × 5.12 = 896 m².

Size and packing frame

The 1600 × 3200 mm slabs in 9, 12 and 15 mm use wooden H-frames, with 7 pallets per container. The listed 1200 mm-wide slabs use A-frames, with a reference load of 6 pallets. The 900 × 2700 × 9 mm and 900 × 2600 × 9 mm slabs use No. 9 A-frames: 60 slabs per pallet and 6 pallets per container.

A change in frame, slabs per pallet or pallet weight requires a new load calculation. Slabs-per-pallet figures cannot be transferred between specifications.

Colors and mixed loads.

For slabs of the same size and thickness, allocate colors by full pallet. Use one color per pallet and plan each color quantity around the slabs-per-pallet figure for that specification.

For 1600 × 3200 × 12 mm slabs, a container holds 7 pallets of 25 slabs. An allocation of 4 pallets in color A and 3 in color B gives 175 slabs. This is a planning example; color availability requires confirmation.

Seven pallets can be planned as up to seven full-pallet color units. The number of colors depends on quantities per color, stock, production minimums and packing requirements.

Color A4 pallets × 25 slabs = 100 slabs
Color B3 pallets × 25 slabs = 75 slabs

Same size and thickness · 7 pallets / 175 slabs

Split pallets, colors mixed on one pallet, and mixed sizes or thicknesses fall outside the full-pallet calculation. These orders require a review of protection, securing methods, center of gravity, pallet weight and container space.

Cargo weight.
Container gross weight.

Weight calculations cover slabs, frames, packing and container tare. Before booking, confirm carrier acceptance, terminal requirements, destination-port limits and inland transport limits. Reduce slab or pallet quantities when the route cannot carry the listed load.

What is included in each weight?

Cargo plus packing: the combined weight of slabs, frames and packing.

Container gross weight (VGM): cargo and packing plus the weight of the container.

The table uses an estimated container tare of 2.23 t. Once a container is assigned, use its tare weight to calculate VGM. The 2.23 t estimate does not replace the assigned container's tare data.

1600 × 3200 × 12 mm · 7 pallets

Cargo plus packing
22.4–23.8 t
Estimated container gross weight
24.63–26.03 t

Each packed pallet weighs 3.2–3.4 t. Seven pallets weigh 22.4–23.8 t. Adding the 2.23 t tare estimate gives the container gross-weight range shown above.

Weight by specification

Weights are in metric tonnes (t). Cargo plus packing excludes the container. Estimated VGM includes a 2.23 t container tare estimate.

Size / mm Thickness / mm Gross / pallet / t Cargo + packing / t Estimated VGM / t
1600 × 3200 9 3.3 23.1 25.33
1600 × 3200 12 3.2–3.4 22.4–23.8 24.63–26.03
1600 × 3200 15 3.4 23.8 26.03
1200 × 2800 6 3.2 19.2 21.43
1200 × 2700 12 3.1 18.6 20.83
1200 × 2700* 9 3.6 21.6 23.83
1200 × 2400* 9 3.1 18.6 20.83
900 × 2700 9 2.8 16.8 19.03
900 × 2600 9 2.6 15.6 17.83

* Packing requires written factory confirmation. Weight ranges reflect packing-weight variation; they are not shipment weighing results.

Weight checks before booking

The estimated VGM for 1600 × 3200 mm slabs is 25.33 t at 9 mm, 24.63–26.03 t at 12 mm, and 26.03 t at 15 mm. For these loads, confirm the carrier's heavy-container policy, freight surcharges, truck type, road limits and terminal requirements.

For the other specifications, booking requires factory-confirmed slab quantities and weights, plus forwarder confirmation of the route and truck arrangements. The transport conditions for the order determine whether the listed load can be used.

Container weight limits and road vehicle gross-weight limits measure different loads. Road transport calculations include the vehicle, chassis, container and cargo. VGM cannot replace that calculation.

Information for your order.

01

Size and thickness

List each size and thickness, such as 1600 × 3200 × 12 mm. Use a separate line for each specification.

02

Colors and quantities

List slabs or area for each color. State whether you need full pallets, split pallets or colors mixed on a pallet.

03

Port and delivery address

Provide the destination port. For inland delivery, include the delivery address and any known weight limits.

The quoted loading plan states the packing method, slabs per pallet, pallet count, slab quantity and area. Weight and mixed-load arrangements depend on confirmation from the factory, forwarder and haulier.

Checks before shipment

  1. Confirm colors and quantities. Allocate colors by full pallet. For split pallets, mixed pallets or mixed specifications, review the packing and loading combination.
  2. Confirm batch packing. The factory confirms weight per slab, slabs per pallet, frame and packing weight, and pallet count.
  3. Confirm the route and terminal requirements. The forwarder checks the carrier's heavy-container policy, freight surcharges, and terminal and destination-port weight limits.
  4. Confirm truck arrangements. The haulier checks the vehicle, road and terminal conditions against the loaded container weight.
  5. Verify container gross weight. Once a container is assigned, verify VGM using its tare weight and the loading data.

Orders outside this loading table

  • Mixed sizes or thicknesses: review the load combination, weight and container space.
  • Split pallets, mixed pallets or loose slabs: confirm protection, securing methods, center of gravity and pallet weight.
  • Curved, shaped or cut pieces: calculate the load using the required crates or custom packing.
  • Countertops, stairs and fabricated pieces: calculate the load from packed dimensions, crate weight and loading orientation.
  • Destination-port or inland weight limits: set quantities against local, terminal and haulier requirements. Reduce the load if it exceeds the transport conditions.

This 20GP table does not apply to 40HQ containers, less-than-container loads (LCL) or special crate arrangements.
