Material weight formula
Slab net weight is calculated from the finished slab dimensions, selected thickness, and the planning density used by this tool.
Dimensions are converted to metres before calculation. Thickness must therefore be entered as metres in the formula, for example 12 mm = 0.012 m.
Worked example: 1600 × 3200 × 12 mm
For one 5.12 m² slab using the calculator density of 2,450 kg/m³:
A planning example of 25 slabs on one 150 kg steel A-frame gives approximately 3,913.2 kg cargo gross weight before any additional protection or accessories.

Is 2,450 kg/m³ the exact density of every sintered stone slab?
No. It is the planning density used by this calculator. Actual density and finished slab weight can vary by product body, finish, manufacturing tolerance, and batch, so use the product technical data for final verification.
What is the difference between net slab weight and cargo gross weight?
Net slab weight covers the sintered stone only. Estimated cargo gross weight adds the selected A-frame or custom packing estimate, but it does not include the container tare weight and is not a certified gross mass.
Does a 40ft container always carry more slabs than a 20ft container?
Not necessarily. A 40ft container has more physical space, but the usable payload may not increase in the same proportion. The cargo weight limit, A-frame layout, carrier rules, route, and inland transport restrictions can reduce the active loading quantity.
How are slabs per A-frame and A-frame quantity selected?
They depend on slab dimensions, thickness, surface protection, frame design, unloading method, and factory loading layout. The calculator provides editable planning inputs; the factory must confirm the final frame configuration.
Can different sizes, thicknesses, or colours share one container?
